2007 $ 20 Dollar Challenge

Okay! I have taken twenty dollars from my wallet and I have put it in an envelope along with and index card.(I write the deposit amount down and put the money into checking and then over to my new Emigrant Savings Account.)

My challenge is to put twenty dollars a week away for the year 2007 Challenge. I will look to complete the challenge by saving money or raising a little extra cash during the week!.

The 20 dollars will be in addition to my regular savings! So I guess the goal is a minimum of $1040.00 dollars by this time next year!

Cone on gang! Who else will join the 20 dollar challenge for 2007?Smile

    I will, I will! I love the idea. So today I put a $20 in the envelope. Are we doing it at the beginning of the week or the end or does it matter?

    I want to play! I never got around to figuring it all out during 2006, so I have to figure out the logistics, but I plan on participating this time around.

    I haven't quite figured out just what the challenge is. I looked at the "What's this" thing about it but it isn't very specific. Of course, that might be deliberate!

    denisentexas, it is a challenge to the self to accomplish a financial goal! You don't compete against others but rather yourself!Smile

    Right but is the point to put aside $20 a week or a month or what? That's what I can't figure out.

    I am all for it again next year. I just started with $20 and every time I saved money, turned in my change, used a coupon, got a survey check, got unexpected money, etc., I put it in a cash box and keep the total on paper. I deposit the money about once a month.

    I'm in also. I started towards the end of the year and am just continuing on from there. Once I get back to doing deliveries I'll add $5 for every trip I make that I take lunch and don't buy anything, any postage I save by paying bills online, $1 for each pound I lose, any change earned from recycling pop bottles and any other ideas I think of along the way.

    WAIT!!!! Wait - wait for me.....

    I'm in - don't know about the $20 a week, but I'm good for $20 a month and will try to up it some as the year goes forward. We've just belt-tightened here to take Hubster's 401-K to 10% and that'll keep me sucking wind for a good month or so until I get used to it!
