Nice Weekend!

November 4th, 2006 at 09:49 pm

Hey Gang!!!!

I have stopped watching the boob tube and tuned in here! Actually reading and responding to blogs is so much more enjoyable and productive.Smile

The week went prety well and I pretty much stayed on target and spent only on budgeted items. WooHOOO!!!!

Today I treated myself to two dirty water hot dogs with mustard, sauerkraut, and onions, I washed it down with a diet Coke! That was my indulgence this week!

Went over to Mamas house and got a bag of Tootsie Pops. Seems like too much candy was bought for the kids trick or treating! I am a Toosie Pop Fiend! I love the darn things! I also got a bowl of, ready to laugh, chicken soup! Homemade chicken soup that was to die for!

The wife and I are doing well so far but she had 619 dollar overdraft on her checking. Hey, it is her problem now so I'll not be losing sleep over it!

We are getting along smashingly this week though! We still have yet to go get her new leaher coat!

DDs birthday is coming up and I am getting her new in line skates as the old ones really are too small for her now!

Got a few things for Christmas but I really hate shopping and such especially for clothes! I usuually take one of my sisters because when it comes to buying womens clothing, for my wife, I am a walking disaster. Don't ever ask me to coordinate color or anything else fashionable. High fashion for me is Dockers, loafers, a shirt, and a tie!Smile

My wife asks me not to go clothes shopping without someone who understands the subtle vagueries of womens clothing! I am as clueless as they come!

DDs Viola lessons are going to cost 343 dollars. An odd number for 10 lessons if you ask me. There was 40 dollars for the trip to the French restaurant with her French Class.

The wife and I have to go to an auto safety course to get our 10% off on our auto insurance. We are looking for the cheapest possible class!

Wait I also splurged last night and bought two bottle of Diet Dr. Browns Blackberry Soda! It is a treat for me. Most folsk think it tastes like Robitussin but hey I like it and it was 99 cents for the large bottles so I bought two!

I am on my third Tootsie Pop and I still bite them before I get tohe center. Oh well!

I realize this is a long post bt I have not been posting as often as I would like!

On we go!Smile

Hey, a viola player! DS plays double bass. (most of the time--he plays on other instruments--not another string one though-- but LOVES his bass). A lot of jazz, but classical, too. Good for her!

  2. PRICEPLUS Says:

DD is also pretty good on the piano!Smile Gets it from her mother I guess.

  3. tinapbeana Says:

  4. Ima saver Says:

Glad to hear you sounding happy! That is good!

  5. Amber Says:

Sounds like someone had a wonderful day...I am curious also, how much candy have you had?

  6. PRICEPLUS Says:

Well I munched out. I had 5 Tootsie Pops! I guess I am Tootsie Popus Freakasaurus! I especially like the raspberry and the cherry pops.

Yeah, I am happy. Why not? Life is too short to not be! It sure is funny how little things like Tootsie Pops can make you happy. Maybe it always is the little things that make us happy!Smile

Tina....I sort of look like the owl.........Big Grin

  7. moneycents Says:

You sound happy and I am happy for you. You're right, life is way too short to stay upset. My husband and I take our driver's safety course at the local library.

  8. pjmama Says:

Sounds like everything is going smoothly! Ras and cherry?? ewww. Can I have your orange ones then?? Smile

Not sure what kind of company you work for, but check with them re: the auto classes. Hubby's company usually offers the classes once a year, and I think they're free for employees (spouses may pay a fee). Talk to HR about it, maybe they'd set something up if enough people were interested.

Also, thanks for the kick in the pants...signing up for an auto class has been on my to-do list for about 6 months!

  10. exhausted Says:

The tootsie pops....do you remember the old animated commercial with:

"Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a toosie pop?"

    "A one."

    "A two."

"A three" and then Mr. Owl bites into it and declares "A three".

If this does not ring any bells with you or your readers, I have just severely dated myself.

Funny thing is, they have been recently repeating these same old ads on Cartoon Network.

Tootsie pops are darned good! I prefer the chocolate ones myself.

  11. exhauste Says:

Forgot the ending of the commercial with the narrator saying "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know..."

  12. LuckyRobin Says:

Um, Price? You might want to make sure there are some pillows on the floor from when you come down from your sugar high! LOL You sound good, though.

  13. PRICEPLUS Says:

It will take a while for the high to wear off! I have a whole bag of the darn things!!Smile

  14. Broken Arrow Says:

What is a dirty water hot dog?

  15. Sunshine Suz Says:

I'm not sure we want to know what a "Dirty Water Hot Dog" is!!!!!

    Ekkk.......

Wonder if he's crashed from his sugar high yet?!?!?!?!? Or if he's still working on his bag full of Pops???

  16. PRICEPLUS Says:

    Broken Arrow,

A dirty water hot dog is a hot dog you buy off a street vendor who has a pushcart. Generally the water used to cook the dogs is not changed during the day and so the water becomes flavored over time and changes color thus the term "dirty water"! Then of course you get mustard, sauerkraut, and onions piled on top of your dog. The street vendor usuualy has hands that look like he has been shoveling coal. When I make trips to NY City I always make a point of getting one!

I am still working on the Tootsie Pops! pjmama I am sorry but the Orange ones are spoken for!Smile

  17. paigu Says:

    You sound very happy =)
Regarding the viola lessons- I played violin but always loved the deeper, "richer" tone of the viola. Never knew of many viola concertos, so I'd be interested to know what your DD plays. As for the pricing, you also have to add in the price of music books, extra strings, viola accessories (shoulderpad), rosin, metronome, music stand...ahh!

  18. PRICEPLUS Says:

paigu, tell me about it! The costs always seem to pop up at the least oppurtune moments. DD also plays piano and is teaching herself guitar. She must get it from her mom! She can read al three clefts. Piano is her first love. She plays a penny whistle and I bought her a middle eastern drum the name of which now eludes me. She is a great kid so I don't care what it costs. She has an interest that keeps her out of trouble!WinkSmile

  19. jersey jen Says:

hey there, sounds like you're excited! hehe, guys shouldn't go cloth-shopping without a female fashion guide.

oh yeah, thanks for stopping by my blog. very exciting encouragement!

  20. PRICEPLUS Says:

Jersy Jen, I learned that the hard way! Good thing I kept all the receipts!Smile

  21. jodi Says:

Mmmm...dirty water hot dog (Homer Simpson drool)

Uh, excuse me. That was very unladylike. But they are so good. I would take a hot dog (straight yellow mustard for me, though) over a Tootsie Pop anyday. Unfortunately, we don't have any vendors here in rural America Frown

  22. PRICEPLUS Says:

jodi, more is the pity! Nothing in the world like a dirty water hot dog!Big Grin
