Checking In!

Money is slow coming in. We just lost my wife's medical insurance a couple of months ago and are now paying 1500 a month for it.

We did not exchange gifts at Christmas. We are clipping coupons, cutting back where we can, and remaining hopeful for the future to be better.

I try and put together no spend days on the top of my list of things to do! I keep socking as much money away as possible.

I was shoveling snow last week and developed some sort of heart arrythmia. I went to the cardiologist and he does not think it serious but I am going for a nuclear stress test this Tuesday.

We had a cold spell and I found myself stuffing newspaper around the doors in order to stop heat loss.

I pay cash for most everything these days. I throw the loose change in a jar in order to save. When I fill the jar up I'll put the money in the bank.

Good to hear from you. I'm doing similar things - also bringing my lunch in, & in our case using a towel under the door. Times will get better! Fingers crossed for luck that you get a clean bill of health.

Baselle, it is great to hear from you as well! Thank goodness there is no mortgage on the house. We also have no car payments. The Sienna is 10 years old and the Camry 8. We are going to run them until they are no longer safe to run!

I hope it gets better but I am not too optimistic it will happen any time soon!

Hi Paul, I have missed you. You are right, things are getting pretty bad right now. I fear my husband will soon be out of work, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hope your health is ok!

Welcome back! I will add my name to the list of well-wishers for you. Ouch on the insurance costs...that is a huge amount to pay...I sure hope things go well with the test...let us know!

The insurance cost is killer but you do what you have to do until something better comes along. Thank God for COBRA!

Hey luxliving! Yeah that is the cost of the COBRA. The wife and I are checking around to see what our best options are. In the meantime that is what we are paying.

The payment alone is making me sick!
