Barnes and Noble Mad Money

November 8th, 2009 at 07:27 am

Well I have collected 175 dollars in Barnes and Nobles gift certificates. Folks gave me a bunch for my recent birthday.

I went to Barnes and Noble but I just did not find anything I needed or wanted. So I guess I will use it for birthdays and the upcoming Christmas Holiday.

It really will help with the gift giving budget.

It really is "mad" money when you can't find anything you need or want with a gift card. I had some Staples reward money that I was in the same boat on (well, sort of...but it was $18, not $175). I tried to get someone to buy them from me discounted, but there were no takers. I couldn't just throw them out, so I went back again and found something that I neither needed or wanted at that moment. Six months later I was really glad I had it, because it saved me hours on a project I was doing.

That will be a great place to find gifts: games, cds, dvds, notepaper, calendars, travel books and more!!

It drives me nuts having all the gifts cards because I could not pick out something for myself. It really will help with the Christmas budget though!

Wow, you are really disciplined with your gift certs, that would lead most people to a crazy shopping spree! I think it will be nice to have them as insurance for the holiday spending, though. Generous of you, as well.
